HAPPY DAYS CONTINUE IN SUFFOLK

In Blog,Misc by Pete Tonks / March 23, 2012 / 0 Comments

I have received a few more shots from our double house project up in Suffolk which started oak delivery on Monday and already 2 of the 4 frames are up!

I will be posting more details later next week and also Oakwrights will soon be publishing part 2 of the design back story on their website which will feature plans, elevations and artwork for the 2nd and larger house which is very interesting… on a steep slope so what appears to be low level from the front, does in fact then continue down the slope and becomes a 3 storey building cut into the surrounding levels… i was personally very happy with this design.
This particular shot made my day though…. great to see the youngsters getting into it 🙂

CAMBRIDGESHIRE VILLAGE HOUSE NEARING COMPLETION

In Blog,Design,Oakwrights,Planning,Self Build by Pete Tonks / March 21, 2012 / 0 Comments

I have been out and about in Cambridgeshire today and dropped in on some lovely clients in a village near Royston.

This is the previous house that was demolished

This is the replacement dwelling whereby we undertook the full design and planning process together with frame supply and erection by T J Crump Oakwrights and is now looking absolutely fantastic….!
The clients have made a great job of it and have used excellent materials.
Well done Tony and Sheila….!

In Blog,Misc by Pete Tonks / March 16, 2012 / 0 Comments

I was pleased to hear from one of our very good developer clients in Ascot that 36 Prince Consort Drive is now complete and on the market with Knight Frank and looks amazing….!

This is a project i designed in 2009/2010 and continues what is now an extensive portfolio with this client and we also have another one in for planning on a new site nearby.

Aboslutely love this house and am always grateful to receive such commissions.

CONTEMPORARY PROJECTS

In Blog,Misc by Pete Tonks / March 14, 2012 / 0 Comments
As i mentioned on Twitter recently, i have seen a sudden increase in enquiries for contemporary designs which is great news and provides a good balance with my more traditional projects.

I am a big fan of contemporary architecture and it is encouraging and indeed rewarding to have this sort of thing on my drawing board at the moment!

This is an early stage concept for a house in East Anglia which is based on the clients very unique specification.

As always, this sort of project will take more time and effort with the planners so i will keep you informed of progress as we get further into the design process
